What a great night! Over 350 active and engaged citizens in attendance to say NO to budget cuts to Baltimore City schools.

1) CALL YOUR LEGISLATOR – TODAY, Friday, Jan. 30th from 11am – 5pm

Help the Baltimore Education Coalition get the attention of our legislators with our “4Calls4OurKids” campaign. Simply call your legislator TODAY, Friday, January 30th to let them know how important education funding is to you. After your call, post to social media using the hashtag #Stop35mCut, tag your elected officials, and watch it go viral. See the “Make4 Calls4OurKids” document attached for phone numbers. 2) COME TO ANNAPOLIS – Monday, Feb. 2nd – Sunday, March 15th

The Baltimore Education Coalition is organizing regular trips to Annapolis to speak with our elected officials. We will cover the logistics – just be ready to show up and stand up for Baltimore City’s students. See “Calendar of Dates and Actions” document, attached, for details regarding dates, times, and locations.

3) SEND POSTCARDS TO THE GOVERNOR – ONGOING, until Wednesday, Feb.18th

The Baltimore Education Coalition will be sending Governor Hogan, Senate President Miller, & House Speaker Busch thousands of postcards letting them know they can’t cut education. Write about what education means to you. Give postcards to others in your community and have them do the same. Drop postcards off at designated locations & they will be delivered right to their desks. See the “Postcard Campaign Instructions” document attached for more information.

The Baltimore Education Coalition organizes and mobilizes the Baltimore community, including organizations, parents, teachers, and students and advocates for effective education reform policies and practices.
