Only one word to describe the Baltimore Education Coalition’s Rally to Restore school funding: Inspiring. Truly moving to see so many committed and caring parents, teachers, administrators, and stakeholders engage the democratic process to advocate for our City’s future (especially in the midst of a monsoon!). Now, time to make it happen.

I’m sure the rain made last night’s already challenging logistics even more difficult, so I wanted to make sure you heard from a bus load of students, parents, and teachers who all had a great time at the rally. We thought the rain did little to diminish the enthusiasm of those gathered in Annapolis, and it was empowering to stand side-by-side with so many other people who care about public education in the City.Thank you for your many, many hours of hard work on behalf of our kids and our city.
–Hugh Bethell, on behalf of Federal Hill Prep School (#45)
The Rally was great! For many of our attendees it was a first time experience. Everyone did enjoy themselves, and they seemed to have all learned something too.
–Nikee Ryan, City Neighbors High School
Last night was truly amazing… as the buses poured out students, parents and educators, I was struck by the fact that this is truly the first time I have witnessed such collective action on behalf of Baltimore City. As a recent arrival (just under six years), thank you for energizing my commitment to the City. Elev8’s potential is great because of BEC.
